You are required to prepare your own career plan. First, you will need to select an area of professional interest: Marketing, Finance, Human resources, Information Technology, International business or entrepreneurship. Then you will identify a dream job and 5 possible jobs for the area that you have selected. You will need to discuss the personal qualities required at each level. Notes for Undertaking the Assignment: The area of professional interest and the dream job selected must be approved by the module tutor prior to the commencement of the research. Prepare a maximum of 10 Power Point (PPT) Slides with notes for presentation purposes not exceeding 1000 words. The individual presentation should last no more than 15 minutes. Students will be questioned on the different aspects of their presentation in relation to the assignment task. The PPT slides (soft copy) should be submitted on Turnitin under the Individual Presentation Link and also utilised on the day of presentation T.B.A. with accompanying hard copy. Students are expected to demonstrate a critical review of the literature related to career planning and management from a range of academic sources. The relevant academic models; theories; processes and associated concepts of career planning should be evaluated. Students are expected to draw upon some relevant examples to demonstrate their understanding of and the practical implications of the issues discussed. Students will be expected to explore how the effective management of individual career can help to achieve competitive edge. Students are encouraged to make use of contemporary sources for information and literature. Include practical recommendations to future graduates or how the challenges identified can be dealt with effectively.
